Thursday I started the day around 11:45am at Twin Brooks Park. Once again the main lure was the 7cm firetiger Original Floater. Worked the same areas as last time.
No pickerel, perch, bass, or crappie at the first stop.
Next stop was where a brook feeds into one of the smaller ponds. Caught a 7" yellow perch and a small bluegill.
Went to the cove at the main pond and hit a 14" pickerel.
Caught 2 bass up to 1 pound 3oz where the 2 brooks feed into the cove at the larger pond.
Around 2:15pm I decided to move on and hit my usual small pond.
Lures I played around with included the 7cm firetiger Original Floater, custom painted 7cm red tiger Jointed, 8cm firetiger Flat Rap, baby bass Tiny Torpedo, and baby bass Rebel Pop R.
No bass were into topwater and I was hitting the thick mossy weeds with the Original Floater and Jointed so I stuck with the Flat Rap.
Lost 1 with the Original Floater and 3 with the Flat Rap. Caught 2 just over a pound with the Flat Rap.
Last stop was the private lake.
Lures I played around with at the private lake included 4cm silver shad Jointed Shad Rap, custom painted 6cm X-Rap Shad Shallow, 7cm perch Shallow Shad Rap, and 7cm firetiger Clackin Minnow.
Hit 2 bass no bigger than a pound and a half with the Clackin Minnow and lost 1 with it. Nothing was interested in the Shallow Shad Rap and X-Rap Shad Shallow.
Once again as usual, the 4cm silver shad Jointed Shad Rap was doing it.
Lost 3 bass with 1 looking close to 5 pounds on the jump and landed 8 yellow perch, 10 bluegills, 1 pumpkinseed, and 3 bass all with that Jointed Shad Rap.
3 bluegills were keepers with 1 being a healthy 10oz bull
3 of the perch were keepers and 1 had a heeled marking from what seemed to be either a snapping turtle or osprey
Here's the 2 pound bass. If only it had more girth to it.
Hit the road around 7:30pm |

I went to twin brooks 3 times this year and fished for about 2-3hrs each time. I used power bait, spinners, top waters ect. and olny caught perch and sunnies. I used to go there all the time back in the day and there were some nice bass. I feel like there numbers have decreased over the years. Where did you catch that bass? _________________ -Bass me a beer. |
