Hi, I'm from the uk but visit family in Mystic CT every year in the summer. Last year I fished from barn island off a bridge, just messing about really but still caught alsorts. This year (June 16th onwards) I intend to get some real fishing done. Is there anywhere in the mystic area that is worth knowing about?
Thanks

When you visit your family, coming from out of country, do you make sure you get your CT fishing license? |

Yeah I get a visitor licence from stonnington town hall. I'm particularly interested in spinning for bass from the shore, is there anywhere you could recommend?
Thanks

I fished from the shore for a long time Jon, and its pretty grim. Very hard to find quality spots that are public and not over fished. Not knowing your situation it's hard to make a recommendation, but I'd try to hook up with a cheap kayak or canoe. This opens up a totally different world within half an hour from you. Amos Lake in Preston (north of you) is a quality lake. Lots of small ponds too, but the ticket is to be looking in at the shore. There's places that rent them if your looking to plan some trips, but you can most likely get one for the same price, if you rent 4-5 times. Google earth is my favorite fishing spot buddy. _________________ Dave..... I can be a pain in the bass. |
