Visited non-fishing friends who live on Mono Pond (they golf). Launched the kayak at 7:30 am and fished till 12:30. Threw a Buzzbait and got two pickerel right away. Switched to a weightless fluke and caught a couple nice crappie. Went over to the thick lily pads and dragged a frog imitation over, around and between the cover without a sniff. Tried a senko, no good. Paddled out to more open water and got more pickerel on the fluke. But NO bass.
Two winters ago, there was a fish-kill that had many big LMB found along the edge at ice-out. I was hoping it wouldn't be devastating, but apparently I was wrong. I used to be able to catch a good mix of large and small LMB, now nothing. Too bad, it's great looking bass habitat. |

That disappointing, but at least you caught something. Are you talking about mondo pond in Milford? _________________ -Bass me a beer. |

Nope. Mono pond in Columbia near Hebron. I only go there a couple times a year. It's around 100 acres and has a public launch. Gas motors are even allowed, but it's very shallow. |

Oh ok, cause there's a lake called mondo pond on Milford. But 100 acres is a petty good size lake, maybe they didn't stock as many bass this year. _________________ -Bass me a beer. |

Fishin Farmer, that's good news that you caught some LMB. I hope they fatten up on some pickerel. |
