Can you bring a row boat or electric motor on most lakes in CT? Also what about parks? _________________ -Bass me a beer. |

Each particular lake has it's own regulations. If you look at the anglers guide, each lake will tell you if..
- Has a boat launch (trailered or carry on)
- Allows motors (combustion or other)
- The hours its open (if there are restrictions)
Also - many of the state parks also have areas for launching. Here is the Anglers Guide and the State Boat Launch Link. As far as a row boat and or electric motor, most places will allow that.

Here's a link to the boaters guide.

Most of the information you need will be in here. If you put a motor on a boat it does have to be registered and you have to have a boating certification. _________________

Don't forget you will need to have your boat registered if you plan on using that electric motor. Any boat with any motor(gas, electric) needs to be registered. |

Registration question.
I just got a 12 ft ALuminum v hull boat. It's an older boat with no title. The previous user never registered it. What do i need to do in CT to get it registered. I have a bill of sale signed, as well as one of those affidavit forms from the DMV, which i will get notarized. Anything else i may need or should be aware of? I know it's a very tricky situation.
Thanks! _________________ A bad day of fishing is better then a good day at work |

That paperwork is a good start. I also think you will need to stand naked in DMV while spanking a big target on your left butt cheek and singing all 16 verses of Old Man River. As I understand it, that was the last legislation. Oh...your electric motor will need to pass emissions, and your cell phone bill must be paid in full. _________________ Dave..... well sounds like you got most of what you need .....Just so you know CT DMV links to your local tax office if your taxes are late it freezes your reg privileges as well and there not very good at being up todate when there payed and removeing the freeze if there any chance you might be or had been late with the taxes you might want to stop bye town hall get a current receipt just to make life easy.........Suxs spending 4 hrs dealing with the place to be turned around because of a slip of paper _________________ I Love to fish......Not a big fan of sitting in the boat alone ....the Conversation and the company make it perfect |

Surprisingly from what i read CT isn't too tough of a state to register a boat (don' need the title). I got all the forms i need and will be mailing them in shortly. Looking at a trolling motor today and needless to say i'm ready to get this baby out on the water. _________________ A bad day of fishing is better then a good day at work |
