I am going out to fish from shore predawn on Saturday. I've been skunked this year fishing the CT for stripers. I've been throwing mostly sluggos in black and white as well. Any advice on working the sluggo to entice some action or where in the water column to try and work them?

I would also be throwing topwater. There's so much bait out there right now. Was out there last night with bait everywhere. Find the fast shallow water to fish. Good luck.

try fishing the sluggos fast with hard jerks to make it ''dance'', if your doing it correctly it should have a very erratic side to side action that the stripers like! -good luck, Dan

Thans, I'll try that! I went down to the windsor launch around 6am. Got skunked so I decided to go to vibert rd. There was a fair amount to surface hitting so I threw a bodonkadonk in white. After a while I got nailed only to find it was about a 12inch LMB! It looked silly to see him with a 4 1/2 inch lure in em. Not much of a fight with my heavy striper rod. Fished a bit longer with no other luck.
