Nice job! I gotta get out there! I fished last sunday and didn't see any action, but the river has stabilized a bit since then, were you fishing the flats? |

Nice fish guys!
Now for some helpful info.. how are you guys fishing those swimmers retrieve wise, cranks/jerk? steady crank? Also are you fishing them out in the middle of the river, and drawing them up, or fishing just off the banks where it drops (I think I know the answer, but am new to striper fishing in rivers. Big time surf fisherman here!) I just picked up a few fatboy swimmers from CT Outfitters and am going to hit the river in my new boat Friday afternoon/night and hopefully all weekend.. also where are you fishing, I don't need the exact area, but a shot in the right direction would be appreciated! I'm from the suffield /w.locks area and I think you are too, but would I be right if I said you were somewhere between the mouth of the farmy and kings island? Lastly, what kind of rod/reel setups are you using for the plugs? My main inshore striper setup is a 7' St.Croix Tidemaster medhvy power, fast action, 10-20lb and it'll toss 1/2 to 1-1/4oz. & Penn Fierce 4000 w/ 30lb PP braid. Being that the plugs are like 2.5oz I've been kinda weary of using them, guess it really dosent matter THAT much but I'm just wondering...
Any info would be greatly appreciated! Tight Lines! _________________ Give a man a fish and he'll eat for a day, teach a man to fish and..... well, he'll never be hungry! or home for that matter!
