last year... same as PECo (green/red flake "Senko"), except i prefer texas rigged

this year it hasn't been working for me, at least not yet. i've caught the most bass this year with a small rapala original floater in firetiger.

I didnt really start fishing regularly until about this time last year, so that could be the reason for the difference in success with the senko. the last couple weeks i've been catching tons of crappie with the rapala and hardly any bass so... it might be time to try the senko again.

Do you all have a favorite lure that NEVER catches anything? I have this Storm shad crankbait that has great action, flashes silver on the sides like a baitfish, has big hologram eyes... never caught a fish on it, and I throw it almost everytime I go out. When it gets up close and I can see it, I always think to myself "how can anything NOT want to eat that?"

My all time favorite bass lure is T-rigged plastics. Type of plastic varies but I like the green stick worm (think its Berkley), the Gulp minnows. Also strike king jigs have worked well for me. white/red and black/blue, i usually trailer them with a gulp minnow.

Laughing Some lures catch more fishermen than fish. I have a few that I thought looked great but the fish thought otherwise.

I'm not much of a bed fisherman, but a wacky rigged Senko works great on bedding smallies and largemouths. Wink

Couple good outings fishing strike king 6" lizards. They got really crabby when it landed in their bed. I think I'm getting disillusioned with senko's. They're so fragile, and I'm sick of trying to repair them after a couple casts and a bite, or a run through the weeds, or just shelling out more cash to keep them in stock. I also found a spinner presentation I really like the look of in the water. I cut a forked tail split belly shad in half and ran it off the primary hook with a 3/0 trailer. I need to order some spinner skirts. Anyone have a web site they like for lure parts in small quantities? I wanna fluff the look up a little more, and I also have a crapload of spinner bodies that have dead skirts.

I buy a lot of skirts and plastic making material from lurecraft. Make sure you get the silicone skirts and not the living rubber!

I have about a half a dozen websites I buy in bulk from so when I get home today I'll pm you all the sites.

That'd be good. I just had a small feeding frenzy on tacklewarehouse last night. Prices seemed fair, and shipping was free over 50. Having that big of a selection is a lot more dangerous than standing at walmart. I love buying tackle...and guns.
