Here's a pic of my son checking out my new Field & Stream Eagle Run 12 kayak. I can't wait to get this thing on the water There are some great deals to be had at Dick's. I was at the one in Canton and the sales guy told me that in the 40 min they were open before I got there, they had sold about 15 yaks already.

If you plan to use a Scotty rod holder, I recommend the Number 444 Compact Threaded Deck Mount. It requires a relatively flat spot on the deck that's 2-3/8 inches in diameter, but mounts without any exposed hardware (e.g. screw or bolt heads). Here's a diagram with the mount dimensions:
http://www.scotty.com/scotty-support/documents/444_CompactThreadedDeckMount_Dimensions.pdf
The Future Beach Trophy 126 has two great spots for them on the left and right sides of the front of the coaming.
The Future Beach Fusion 10 looks like a nice boat, too. But, as with any Future Beach kayak, invest in a pad to put on the seat or your ass will never forgive you! _________________ Don't forget to wear sunscreen and don't litter! |

Just went and bougt a trophy 126, pretty jittery about using it though, it will be my first kayak. May need to go out with some pros to get comfortable with using it.
Does anyone else have a trophy 126 _________________ "Come after Me, and i will make you to become fishers of men"

Quite a few people on here do including myself. Seems to be the popular choice fishing kayak! |

You won't have any problems with stability in that kayak. I have fished from one several times and it is easy to paddle and fish from. I have even watched Daryl fish standing up in his last year. That's how stable it is. You'll love it...have fun! |

Future Beach kayaks have rotomolded one piece hulls, while the Potomac kayaks that I've seen have two piece hulls. The polyethylene used in the Future Beach kayaks also feels thicker than that used in Potomac. Plus, the dihedral hull shape of the Future Beach Fusion and Trophy kayaks is more stable than a single keel design. I'm not sure how pronounced of a keel the Potomacs have, but without a good keel a kayak won't track very well. My old Pelican Pursuit 80 DLX doesn't have one and it tracks really poorly, which makes paddling in a straight line difficult. _________________ Don't forget to wear sunscreen and don't litter! |

Thanks for all the insight Phil, we’ll take a look at the keel design on the Potomac before we buy anything. Hopefully I’ll have a new boat to post about later on tonight
I know exactly what you mean about tracking issues with our stubby little coleman kayaks! _________________ PB's:
