One of my favorite local ponds to fish, unfortunately a lot of the good spots you can only get to via kayak or canoe. |

2 and 3 are good. Last year was rough but still produced. My son took a 5lb Large out of 2 last spring. _________________ Don't hold your farts in! They travel up your spine to your brain and thats where shitty ideas come from. |

Yeah this was the first time I fished number 2. I just moved to Seymour like 6 months ago and I fished 4 and 3 a few times the past two months and didn't do to good. Your right I need a yak. I also just had twin boys so money is tight and I can't afford a new yak so if anyone has a used one for sale let me know. I definitely need to get one. |

I probably fish them more than any other body just because of convenience of being close and quality fish. I consistently take at least 2-3 6+lbers out of at least one of them every year. Usually fall time. |

Yeah I thinks it's gunnarain today. If I can get out of work early I'm going to pick up the permit for saltonstal and the maltby lakes. I'm going to try it out on maltby lakes probably today. I hear good things about them. |

Yeap, Joe, if the forecast holds up, especially for the wind, Wednesday might not be a bad day for fishing. _________________ Don't forget to wear sunscreen and don't litter! |

Hey there fishermen and women...
My 11yo started fishing last year and first time for me in 30 years and I only fished salt water as I grew up pretty close to LI sound.
He had a lot of fun with sunnies and an occasional small bass on worms in our town kiddy pond and Tobey's pond.
This year he's all for the bass using rubber worms only. He's gotten nine small bass in a couple of outings the largest being about 14 inches.
I fished #2 today in hopes of finding an area that would have some larger fish for him. I got a 14" and a 18" LM on rubber. Any idea on what the weight of these fish would be?
I have a question if anyone would care to help me out.
We have just been using rubber worms, single hook without any weight and with a slow retrieve it comes in very close to top water...should I add weight to it to get it deeper in a place like the reservoirs? I like using rubber worm with single hook because we release everything and don't want to hurt the fish...would anyone offer another artificial lure to expand our abilities in a place like 2 and 3? or any other advise? Many thanks

I should have added that we are fishing from shore only. |

As a general rule of thumb, I've found that largemouth bass in Connecticut hit one pound at 14 inches and add half of a pound for each inch after that. An 18 incher would weigh, on average, three pounds. _________________ Don't forget to wear sunscreen and don't litter! |

It would be a good idea to texas rig your worm with a bullet weight and hop or drag it back to you. Also throw some jigs into the mix and square bill crankbaits. |

You can use various types of bullet weights to adjust the rate of fall. Also different plastic lures have various salt content to adjust the fall also. Tackle Warehouse has a good selection and review of many of it's products! _________________ Don't hold your farts in!
