Caught my first bluefish of the year today. It was only about 2 or 3 pounds. It coughed up a ball of shiners. Someone there caught three bluefish and had something bigger on that came off. I also snagged a bunker. I'm not going to say where. Has anyone else gotten any bluefish lately?

I heard there were some sandeels in my area, but I haven't seen them yet. I'm pretty sure it coughed up silversides. The only bait I've actually seen are the bunker.
I was using mackerel chunks and the other guy was using fresh bunker.

Im gonna wait a little longer and concentrate on Stripers, its still too early for much of the blues to be here.

Not mine. Caught off fresh snagged bunker. I saw two ones about the same size of this one get away.

Got my first of the year Wednesday!!!!

Most of the blues I saw others landing were your average taylors while one guy hit a nice 28" harbor.

Last night I went to one of my local spots to look around and saw a few dead 5-8 pound blues laying around and I saw someone catch a 35 inch striper.

I meant I saw dead Blues on the pier. The guys were keeping them to eat, not just murdering them.

Oh, OK. Do you know how many times Ive heard of people killing them just because! Id turn them in but all they would have to say is they were going to take them home.

I also hate listening to those striper fishermen complain about blues! How can they even say that a striper fights better than a bluefish pound for pound? Those striper fishermen rather look for a challenge of trying to get a cow instead of hooking up with plenty of blues.
