Hi,
Since I did so well on the Crappies -> I decided to give them another try today.
Got to Highland at 5:00 PM and fished till just after dark.
Same place and with the same rig.
Killed them -> Caught 3 dozen, all over 14 inches and 1 that went 18 inches!
Each time I go out they seem to get bigger and bigger.
This is the best Crappie fishing year I've ever had !

An 18 inch crappie? Did you get a photo? I'd love to see it.
I enjoyed my walleye a lot tonight. Maybe I should give crappie another try. _________________ Don't forget to wear sunscreen and don't litter! |

Hi Phil,
No! -> It was pretty dark when I caught him.
Other day I caught a couple that were an easy 17 inches.
Crappies at Highland are running big this year!

Here is the biggest I have seen. 19 3/4 inch. My son set here free! We don't target them, But every now and them will get one while bass fishing.
They say they are good eatin, But we've never tried them. If I try them I'd keep a few small ones. I'd still let the big ones go make babies. _________________ PB LMB 9.3LBS Winchester Lake

Wow that's big!! The biggest crappie I've ever caught was 14" and it was a monster panfish - I can't imagine how big that thing was up close. They are fun to fight on medium or light action rods. And they are excellent tasting _________________ Steve |
