Only one pound, three ounces?!?! Wow! If anyone really wants to get a State Record fish, head up to East Twin Lake and target rock bass. There's a State Record in there, for sure.

Funny you mention that, I have been saying there's a state record pickerel in there too!

Plenty of new state record pickerels in West Twin that can beat the current record that came from there.

Ever heard the old story about what the state did around the time they started stocking trout in East Twin?

East Twin used to be much more weedy and held plenty of chain pickerel.

The state decided to hold a special chain pickerel tournament at East Twin to get rid of most of the pickerel so they could kill off the weeds and start stocking trout.

The tournament wasn't a c&r. They kept any keepers landed so they wouldn't have to worry about losing trout due to the pickerel that used to be in there.

Maybe a CTFT sanctioned event should be in the works, head up there, rent boats, target pickerel and try to break the CT state record!

Nice post men, yes Phil rock bass are good eating for sure. Gotta try the baby brush hog myself. I've had a package of green pumpkin somethings for like 3 years. I just suck at changing things up I guess.
