our aquatic ecosystems seem to achieve homeostasis regardless of what we have introduced into our waters. snakeheads have been caught in MA and in other nearby states. yet there is nothing of an infestation. and if there is then what?? we will catch them just like we catch every other fish we have put here. to put my point into perspective here's a list of species introduced to Connecticut: carp, pike, bowfin, rainbow trout, brown trout, kokanee, tiger trout, lake trout, channel catfish, rock bass, smallmouth bass, largemouth bass, white crappie, black crappie, walleye, bluegill... that's just off the top of my head i'm sure there's more. |
