A good choice man. 3oz should be good, get those flat round ones, they work better in that area due to the sandy bottom. Also try using some squid, that supposedly is a good bait for the river as well Maybe even some pike sneaking around there too.

. Any other questions take a swing by Fishin Factory 3 and talk to Andrew. Tell him John sent you.

I was supposed to go there today but plans got all balled up.

Remember 2 lines per angler, so try different baits on all till you find out what's working. Cut mackerel is always a good stand by too.

Good luck, if no luck you could always go to ABC pizza! That place made up for quite a few no-catch days for me & company. Wink

Keep me posted.

Your welcome, funny you should ask me that. Back in the 80's I was there with a friend of mine, we were fishing at were that red pipe used to go into the river above a wall there
. We were using large shiners on bottom and catching some nice catfish, well I get a fast flurry of hits then nothing. So I figured I'd check my bait, while reeling in I can feel that the line is real light, them BAM the line stops dead and starts to head out. I get the fish to shore turns out to be about a 30 inch pike! Now here is the funny part, it bit onto the 1/2 oz egg sinker and wouldn't let go of it, and the snelled hook was dangling along side of pike's mouth. The pike was never actually hooked at all. I'll never forget that day.
That place has always treated me good.
