Stopped at Lake Basile on my way home from work tonight for a quick fix. I fished from 6:20pm to 6:50pm. The water was calm and it was cloudy. There are quite a bit of weeds on the bottom but the Lake is not choked with weeds yet. Here's a nice view of the water with a powered parachute flying overhead.
From the shoreline I threw a small chartreuse grub on a 1/16oz jig head. I ended up catching my first LMB of the year about 10min after I made my first cast. It was a small 11"er
A few casts later and I caught my first keeper of the year. A skinny 14" LMB
Just before it was time to go, I caught a nice 11" black crappie.
All fish were caught on the same grub. |

Good job for a half hour. Today's skies, winds, air temp, and humidity were perfect! |
