Headed back over to the Pequonnock at Beardsley Park Wednesday starting around 12:30pm.

Dug up worms last night so I had some with me and drifted plenty.

Had a number of nibbles and caught a keeper brookie and a throw back brookie. Also landed an edible rock bass and a dinky bluegill. One fish I was very happy about was a 3 pound sucker!

I then headed upriver to the old Trumbull Rd bridge and hit 2 nicer brookies with a 7cm brown trout Original Floater.

Continued up along a trail and had 1 hit and 1 follower.

Headed back down to a calmer shallow area and hit 2 dinky largemouths on topwater with the Original Floater and also a 6" pumpkinseed.

Hit the road around 7:30pm

That is a big sucker man. Funny story I was doin some trout fishin in a pond with my buddies on opening day and I was getting skunked my buddies were hitting 2 pound brookies on powerbait. The most action i got all of opening day and I was on the water was a big sucker flopping around in a little creek running into this tiny pond so I barehanded him and that was my prize of the day haha.

I enjoy hitting white suckers for fun on a light action setup with worms on the bottom. They give a good fight on light action line and love their stiff pull on the rod.
