| Im heading to the causeway in ole saybrook this week for stripers and blues. Any pointers never fished there in a while. what should I use for lures and bait what are they biting on. and where is the good spots to fish. |

Blues? I dont think they are in yet, if they are please tell me so. Never been where your going but Sluggos, poppers, swimbaits, bucktails and sandworms is whats been working so far.

I would fish the stretch between the "Dock n Dine" and that small art museum. I used to fish the area exclusively and did quite well years ago. (1990's) Blues, stripers, fluke, an occasional winter flounder. I haven't fished there in a few years so I am interested in how you do if you go there.
Now the causeway... That place is tricky, you have to park SOMEPLACE then walk all the way to a spot that might be open. Timing is of the essence here, but have heard of people doing good. I've fished it a few times but not much to speak off.

Oh right, I mainly used sandworms, chunk mackerel and squid for bait, and mostly Rapala type lures, never got into the soft plastics. Not that they wouldn't work but I just never tried them.

I've never used them myself but am inclined to hear how they work?
Also where do I purchase them so I can give them a try too.
