So I'm currently trying to blackfish... I say try because to this minute, I'm getting skunked...

Any tips for rigging? We are using sand worms and crabs... I'm desperate Smile

Get into the rocks Im told and wait until the second bite? I believe those weighted hooks that stand the hook up help also.

The spring season is always hit or miss. I've been out by boat for them 2 times this season and we've only managed a few fish in the Niantic area.

All you can do is keep trying... and flip over a few rocks, grab a few asian crabs and put 2-3 on a hook. Don't tell anyone though Wink

You wait until the second bite and you're likely to be stripped of bait. They're the lightest biting, hardest fighting fish i've ever caught, but when you hook into one, what a rush! Need nice heavy jig heads to get those crabs down into the rocks. The bite is like a sunfish bite, and if you're not all over it when it happens, you likely have a hollow crab shell on the hook. They're tough, but oh so fun!
