Tuesday morning I got an early start hoping for sunrise stripers.

I started off at the discharge beginning around 6:30am and high tide was scheduled for 9:27am.

After nothing happening there, I went over to the cannon where nothing happened.

Went back over to the discharge and had a quick bump before heading to the small pond around 9am.

Lures I tried throwing included 9cm shad Rapala Shallow Shad Rap, 8cm purpledescent Rapala Clackin Rap, 8cm glass ghost Rapala X-Rap Shad Shallow, and 10cm silver Rapala Flat Rap.

The lure that I got the bump on was my one and only producer, the Shallow Shad Rap.

Theres always next time. Probably going back to the Dam once or twice this weekend myself. The tide really blows this week for me. Went to Longmeadow after work for an hour and nailed a 1 1/2 lber on a 4" grubtail.

April 4, 2010 was my best striper day ever! Caught a total of 18 up to 25" at the discharge while they were chasing the herring. More than half of them came on a 9cm Rapala Shallow Shad Rap. Others were chunking with no luck.

I was on a buddy's boat on the Housy around this time last year. He was throwing soft plastics near the bottom while I stuck with the 9cm shad Shallow Shad Rap. He got nothing and I hit 7 with 1 being 27".
