Hit the river last night for a few hours for some decent fishing, caught a couple smallies, schoolies on plastics and this hefty 33" male on an eel

Below the 91 bridge up in Windsor.
Thanks pickle, we need a LOT of rain if we are going to salvage this season,
problem with rain is dirty water, at least when you get the snow melt up north during a normal winter the water stays fairly clean |

I love that section of the river below the Bissell bridge to the railroad train tracks in Hartford. I've caught several keepers in that section. Nice fish Aqualung! |

Its amazing how different a fish looks holding at different angles. I took a pic of the 32" I caught the other night at the dam and after looking at it I decided from the pic everyone would say it was in no way a 32" Hell, I measured the sucker and cant believe it from the pic. That first pic you got there looks huge (Like it is) and the other doesnt do it justice. It was tough taking a pic up on that Dams edge, with a 32"er, almost lost my phone for second! _________________ There's a fine line between fishing....

No question how you hold a fish and the angle of the picture can make an average fish look like a trophy. |

A friend of mine mates on a boat down in Islamorada, Fl. I was down there recently and I have a picture of myslef holding up a snapper and one of him holding it. It looks 4x larger in his. I actually called him and asked him why and he told me if you hold the fish out as far as you can from your body toward the camera with a hand under tail and a hend under gills it always looks bigger. He has been doing it for years for pictures for people that charter his boat. So there's your tip for making your catch look even bigger for the camera... _________________ Is it duck season yet? |

i agree that the fish "look" bigger in the picture however, one can almost always see how someone is holding the fish. and a tell tale sign is obviously seeing arms fully extended........none the less the fish in the picture above is a beautiful fish! |
