fished from 6- 7:30

Nothing on jig
Nothing on a grub
Nothing on spinnerbait
Nothing on worm
Three large pickeral all over 2lbs and one small mouth i'd say just shy of two pounds.
All three fish came in the last 15 minutes on an orange rapala slash bait.

Wish I started fishing it earlier. Water temps seem to be right for the jerk/slash bait right now.

Noted that all four fish came on about a 15 second pause.

Is this a small pond? I'm looking for a place where I can fish small mouth from the shore I like catching them so much better. The only small mouth pond near me that's any good is illegal to fish...don't ask how I know.

Let's not start this again. These were caught legally.

That is what I found on Cwood a couple weeks back. Hopefully you can arrange the schedule to get some more time there.

Thanks guys. I find it very hard myself to wait that long. Especially after I catch one. I have all the adrenaline going and I have to remind myself to slow down.

It's tough cause may-sept you fish at your normal pace. So it becomes muscle memory and is hard to adjust for winter/fall fishing.

Id pause that long if my suspending husky jerk didn't sink slowly...the one I had before that which was the same model floated up slowly...dumb things but I too noticed most of my hits coming on the long pauses.

I hear ya Ryan, 15 seconds is a damn eternity. That's why I rely so much on the spinnerbait. I know it doesn't always produce, but I hit something 9 times out of ten anyways. My dad always used to tell me to let my Manns Jelly worm sit longer, they'll find it. Took years to learn patience. Good job on the patience.

Certain Rapala lures easily sink if you attach a leader or snap swivel to them. If it was just direct tie or a snap, you're fine. I usually use pliers or some type of clipper to take the swivel off and just use the snap.
