I'm new to Connecticut from Ohio. I was told fishing season starts on the third Saturday of April. Does that mean I can't fish public water until that date? |

You will need to get a ct anglers guide and see where you can fish if your talking about trout as there are places you can fish in off season but they are catch and release and some of those are fly only or barbless hooks and such. Bass is another story and iz wide open to fish as long as its not a stocked place for trout also. _________________ There's a fine line between fishing....

You should check out the anglers guide...here it is:
http://www.eregulations.com/connecticut/fishing/
Generally, if you fish for anything but trout in non-trout stocked waters, you can fish anytime - all year long. |

Streams and rivers are closed during the off season, with a few exceptions (listed in the guide)
Ponds and lakes are open all year, with a few exceptions (listed in the guide)
Tidal water is open year round, the cutoff points for tidal water in the CT river etc. are listed in the guide _________________ PB's:
LMB - 4 pounds - Stump Pond, Thompson
Carp - 11 pounds - W. Thompson Lake, Thompson
Still searching for some toothy critters big enough to be worth weighing... |
