I had no idea black fish (tautog) were around already also although truthfully I have no idea when they come in or leave or when season is even in for them as Ive never fished for them but would like to this year. Are they of decent size right now? _________________ There's a fine line between fishing....

Here's a link to the current Connecticut Marine Recreational Fisheries Regulations for 2012:
http://www.ct.gov/dep/cwp/view.asp?a=2696&q=322740&depNav_GID=1647
For Blackfish (aka Tautog), the minimum length is always 16 inches, and the open seasons and limits are as follows:
April 1 - April 30 - 2 fish per angler
July 1 - August 31 - 2 fish per angler
October 10 - Dec. 6 - 4 fish per angler _________________ Don't forget to wear sunscreen and don't litter! |
