3 bass caught around 4/4:30pm
1 on the same spinner used for sundays catch, 1 on a low end hard body spinner bait, and I caught mine on a senko!

After those fish it DIED

Though i did see other guys fishing as I ventured to the wall.

I seen a bass explode on the surface, so my dumb ace figured I'll cast my skitter walk and catch this big momma.

NOPE 3rd cast I caught a fallen tree branch, got frustrated, snapped my line, the skitter stayed on the branch, I got angry, swore a few times, packed my gear and left =P

I love using spook / skitter walk lures.

I tried it today for the reason above, my buddy caught a lmb on a spook recently AND I have read a few reposts of guys catching lmb on top water.

I didn't bother taking a picture of mine, though it was a bit bigger then the one in the last picture. Maybe around 1½lbs

I went off on my own

Maybe I'll be lucky and it will be there when the water level drops!

It sucks not being able to put a boat on most of the places around here, for the obvious reason and for THIS reason

Anyone ever try those lure retrievers and do they work?

We have a lure retriever in our boat, it's telescoping, and no it does not work. When you get down to the lure, the damn thing pushes back in instead of freeing the lure, so I'm not a big fan, unless we're doing it wrong? On the topwater thing, my go to is a baby torpedo in perch color, use it like a spook and they love it.

I'm planning to pick up a Bending Branches Angler paddle, which has measurement markings on the shaft and a notch on one of the blades for unhooking snagged lures:

They're easy enough to make out of paracord and a weighted ring you can attach a small chain to.
