I decided to try for flounder today...figured what the heck. Everyone says there aren't any. I got 1 keeper on sandworms in a harbor.
Measured it with my size 13's because i had no tape measure.
Anybody else go out?

Nice fish! I have never fished for them. Any specific rigs you put the worms on?

Used a hi lo rig with a 1oz sinker. Sandworms. small octopus hooks. Thinking about it, i should have used the longshank flounder hooks in case i had short fish to release. It would have made it easier to do so. Luckily i only got the 1 fish.

Never fished for winter flounder. Still have 1 nice Summer slab in the freezer from last year. The day after the summer season closed for flounder I caught a freakin door mat!!!!! I was so pissed! I put it back in case any of you are wondering. I value my fishing license!!!!!

The world record winter flounder is only 7 pounds, most don't get bigger (or at least caught bigger) than 2 or 3 lbs.
