Came across this place today after fly fishing the Mill River. Anyone have any experience here bass fishing? If so any good? I was thinking about heading out here tomorrow in the kayak.

Thanks

Joe

It has black crappie and small largemouth bass, but I've fished it only through the ice during the Winter. You can park on the side of the road on River Road just to the west of the spillway dam.

It's in Hamden, on the outskirts of Sleeping Giant State Park. It's an impoundment of a small river, but is really just a small pond, John. It's a nice spot to ice fish when there's a northwest wind, because there's a hill that partially shields the pond in that direction. Oh, and did I mention the crappies? Wink
