Caught my first LMB of the season. Both last night at about 9PM.

Both were caught on a 3/8 spinner oddly enough.

First one was about 2 LBS and it was a reaction hit. Thing took it as soon as the bait hit the water. Really caught me off guard since I hadnt even engaged my reel yet.

Second one was caught off a medium paced retrieve with no jerks.

Pretty happy about this. All Ive been able to catch this far is Perce and Bluegills. However, i did catch a Perch about 8in the other day. Biggest perch Ive ever seen. Schools of them have just been hanging out by the dock. Not wearing camouflage though, so usually once they get close to the bait they see me and swim off.

Def looking forward to getting back there tonight.

So far Ive found the best luck at night. I think thats only because I'm at work all day and dont get to hit it until the night, haha.

Im finding the most action when the sun is setting. They've been quite lively around that time with a lot of aggression. Hit it again last night with soft plastics and had a lot of hard hit, but couldnt set the hooks in time. Slow retrieve on spinners are producing though, at about a 1/8 weight. Wouldve thrown em last night but lost two spinners to the same tree. Sometimes throwing at night has its drawbacks, haha.

I couldn't throw my spinnerbait without hanging it in a tree, yesterday, even when there was only one tree within 100 yards of me. Mad I feel your pain. We just have to stock up on spinnerbaits, I guess. Wink

Don't mean to get off topic ITT but its a whole new level of fishing, you need some heavy gear to throw it on, I basically use my giant swimbait setup, Extra heavy 8 foot swimbait rod, shimano curado 300 series reels, and 50+ pound braid, but boy does it catch em'!
