Hit up the pond for 1hour + after work today. Threw a black/blue jig, a firetiger spinnerbait and a Rapala Shad Rap that for some reason just kept running left. I broke off the jig on a submerged tree/bush and then tied on a brown/green jig and fat Albert green-pumpkin grub trailer. The grub was in a bag w Chartreuse grubs and had a hint of chartreuse in the tail Caught a bass within 5 casts. Fished the weed line around the pond and battled the wind which picked up quite a bit. Missed a couple fish who didn't commit to the jig. Before I left I went and pitched it to a stump where I usually have some luck. It got picked up and let go. Pitched again, same story. Pitched once more and let him take the jig before I set the hook. Both bass were small but first catches of the year for me so I'm happy for now.

Those guys were there today however they left empty handed .. I think the fish in there are pretty conditioned to not bite anything from the launch area or they just don't hang out there. Not sure where the big ones are yet. _________________ Never give up! |

chud059 - If you see anyone with three lines in the water, remind them that they're allowed only two.
Tim - I'd bet that green pumpkin/red flake Zoom Brush Hog would have worked well. _________________ Don't forget to wear sunscreen and don't litter! |

... I am going to check out pine lake park, I saw that on a map tonight, it's right down the street from where I work.. I'll hit there one of the next 3 days...it looks like a nice park/pond area. |

That's no excuse. If I ever get the "no english" from someone I see who's violating the regs, I know whom to call to explain the regs to them:

They only had two poles each yesterday. Maybe someone reminded them. _________________ Never give up! |

Hey, Tim, if you bend the eye on the nose of your Rapala to the left, it should run left (i.e., to your right as you retrieve it). It must be bent to the right. Give this a try. Oh, and a chartreuse tip on a soft plastic bait always seems to attract bites from small fish. _________________ Don't forget to wear sunscreen and don't litter! |

I'll give it a try Phil. You're right about he chart tip. I think all of the fish that were hitting it weren't hooking up because of that. The last fish I picked up yesterday didn't even have the hookin him But the trailer keeper got imbedded in him when he tried to swallow the chart tip _________________ Never give up! |
