**** URGENT UPDATE ****
Bluegill Terminator (aka Pete) let me know that I read the Farmington River regulations wrong before I set out, today. It's CLOSED until Opening Day from the Route 177 bridge in Unionville downstream to the Rainbow Reservoir Dam. Embarassed Thanks, Pete!
**** URGENT UPDATE ****

I carried El Habañero down to the Farmington River at Tunxis Meade and paddled into the quarry pond from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm. The sky was sunny, the air was warm and there was a steady five to 10 mile breeze out of the west. The water level was slightly high, so access to the pond was very easy. As soon as I entered, I knew that my chances of catching anything were slim, because the water was very murky. It looked like watered down milk and visibility was less than a foot. I threw a chartreuse two inch curlytail grub on a 1/16 ounce round jighead, a white Strike King Red Eye spinnerbait, a big white suspending/rattling Husky Jerk, and both chartreuse and white four inch curlytail grubs on a 1/8 ounce shakeyhead jig head. Unfortunately, I got what I expected, which was absolutely nothing. Crying or Very sad Well, come to think of it, I also got a really pleasant paddle for a couple of hours Very Happy :

You did get a very nice panoramic photo Wink

Never saw the water murky there, that's a bummer.

It looks like the quarry operation has been in full swing. There are huge piles of material on the shore. I think that might have caused the murkiness.
