Michael and I hit a few spots in the Trout Management area (catch &release) today. He managed to out fish me again with 1 nice 1 and 1 small one and I get a decent one myself. I got mine on a trout Magnet and cant remember exactly what he caught his 2 on. Michael, sorry buddy I guess I cut you off in the pic but I was fumbling so we could get the fish back in the water. The first pic is Michaels and the second one of me and my catch of the day. WE werent there that long but had to get out today. Hey, I have no legs in that pic!!! LOL

I got the one in the pic with a 7cm bleeding pearl Rapala Original Floater. I got the smaller one with a 6cm brown trout Rapala Flat Rap. Also missed out on a nice one with an 8cm glass minnow Husky Jerk.

Wade's was about 13" or 14" while my bigger one was close to 15" and weighed 1.5 pounds.

That bleeding pearl Original Floater has been working for me very well with trout and perch!

Thank you again Wade for getting me out. Next weekend, depending on the forecast and your sched, I'm considering the golf course.

My bad, I thought that Hamden did at sleeping giant state park. If you don't mind me asking; how did you get to the river? I was looking at it on google earth and I couldn't figure out where to park. I have been thinking about going soon, I heard they recently stocked. The tma is between the parkway and lake mohican correct?

On the map you'll see where Morehouse Highway passes Lake Mohegan. Just up the road where it ends is a dirt road that leads to the parking area. The TMA stretch is from the Merritt Parkway bridge to where it feeds into Lake Mohegan.

Nice guys, do you do any white perch fishing? I would like to get into some. I dont have a boat so if you have any land spots that would be great. haven't fished for them since I was a kid

Catch and release,

The housy river lake during the warmer months down from the Stevenson Dam is loaded with white perch. I've gone out there at night and caught more than I knew what to do with. Some were pretty fat also. When the water is high there I wouldn't waste the time fishing it though.
