does anyone have any ponds/lakes in the Hartford / Wethersfield area that you would recommend going to? i am young so i just want a good bass fishing spot for me and my brother to go in the summer. We fish for all kinds of bass but dont have a boat  we will travel to most places if strongly recomended. |

Start in the coves off of the Connecticut River. Wethersfield and Keeney have a little bit of shore access. So does Batterson Park Pond in New Britain, but it'll be closed until Opening Day (i.e., 6:00 am on the third Saturday in April). Unfortunately, most of the really good bass spots that I know require a boat to get out from the shore.
