Here's the announcement from the DEEP's website:
http://www.ct.gov/dep/cwp/view.asp?Q=497934&A=4173
I've never been charged to park my car or launch my kayak at the Wethersfield Cove boat launch ramp, not that I've done that very often, but after they improve it, I'm sure that I'll have to pay. _________________ Don't forget to wear sunscreen and don't litter! |

Yeap!
I'm sure that there will probably be a launch fee imposed.

My understanding is that there already is, Stephen. But nobody has ever been there to collect it when I've launched. _________________ Don't forget to wear sunscreen and don't litter! |

Phil,
There will be someone there once that marina is built + fencing + gate + guard + docks + lighting + etc.
All that has to be maintained and paid for somehow!

Thought this was pretty interesting. Yeah there is a small fee (a bit more for non-residents of Wethersfield). Certain times of the year there is no charge. You will know because once you enter the park, there will be a guy inside a little booth waiting for your money lol. _________________ Steve |

Is there a launch fee in Hartford? Where is the launch you're talking about also?
Thanks |

there are two right across from eachother down in hartford and right across the river is another. I know the one in hartford as the "trash plant". ive only ever launched there in the fall so i could be dead wrong but there wasnt anyone taking money any of the times we went. you can see one launch from 91 and the other is almost under the 84 bridge going over the river. just down river from there is wethersfield cove. |

None of the launches are free. He is referring to the Charter Oak launch. The only time someone isn't there collecting is during the late fall and early spring. Normally it is $15 to launch. However, If you get a season pass, say from EAST HARTFORD, they will honor it at both Charter Oak and Riverside Park (Hartford) launches. All three launches are maintained by Riverfront Recapture. Hope that answers your question. _________________
