Just plunge your auger into the water after you've bored all the way through the ice.
Seriously, just power through it. Using a hand auger gets easier as the season wears on. You'll get used to it in no time. _________________ Don't forget to wear sunscreen and don't litter! |

paint it black.. it helps a little. and make sure you dont set it down in the snow after drilling. brush off a clear spot to lay it down. |

This is the best advice peco will ever give =P
I agree though its free and it works every time!
If any thing wipe the blades off with a rag after plunging it into the water

Hi,
As taught to me years ago by an oldtimer use real Bee's Wax.
Mariner's have used it for centuries sewing up ship sails.
So it made sense to me!
Sticks to just about anything, water proof, and won't wash off!
Also Bio-degradable.

On Saturday, I knocked the ice off of my auger blades with the hard plastic handles of my ice picks. After that, I kept them clear of the snow by putting the auger into my shelter, which is rigged on a small Jet Sled type of sled. _________________ Don't forget to wear sunscreen and don't litter! |
