I hit a spot in Shelton the other day and was getting hits but they must have been small and didnt run with it. Im pretty new to the salt water fishing though so maybe it was my bait presentation.

May have been catfish. They just kinda tap the bait. They love mackerel chunks |

I promise not all fish are gonna run with it. Some blue fish weve caught and even stripper seem to "peck" on or just sit and chomp the bait. _________________

Just for something to do without spending any money on gas today I went down to Caroline street (just down from Derby Dam) and hit it with eels, mackerel, fresh bunker and sand worms and just had something pecking again, no hits. Oh well, like they say "a bad day off fishing is still better then a good day at work". _________________ There's a fine line between fishing....

Old post I know but still. I've found anything pecking from the dam to the sound is just eels. It's aggravating. I usually will put a #2 hook on a line and start catching those so at least I get something.
From what I hear a 47lb striper was caught just below the dam on 26Sept. |
