Going there tomorrow AM. Anyone been there lately with a report. I know they just stocked it this past week with 500 Browns. Where is the best place on the lake to fish. Thanks! _________________ Oh man... you got Onzo'd! |

last time i went i was also going for trout and used medium shiners as bait, i fished the middle where its about 40 feet deep, caught some nice browns that were about 14 to 20 inches. they had some nice colors on them only took one trout home because it was gonna die, the others were released. good luck

So me and Onzo went up to Mt Tom on Sunday morning. Got there around 7 AM. Got a dozen medium minnows at the bait shop a bit up 202 at the camp. Nice guy. Real small minnows! Bringing Alwives next time.
First Brown was caught by Onzo at 7:45. 14". Tossed him back to live another day. Next up was a Yellow Perch. Big fatty too!
Around 9:30 I caught a real nice Brown. 19" around 2.5 lbs! Then we caught another Yellow Perch. Lost two trout. Than caught one more Brown around 16"s.
All in all it was a lot of fun. We would have loved to catch a Salmon. That was our goal but... better luck next time.
Stayed in the middle in about 35 - 40 feet. _________________ Oh man... you got Onzo'd! |

I hear the Bass fishing and Pickerel fishing is hit or miss there. Go to Ball Pond for the Bass if you want a nice small lake without a lot of traffic. _________________ Oh man... you got Onzo'd! |

MarkO - DirtyDawg10 (aka Derek) and I met a guy at a restaurant in Litchfield at this time last year who showed us some photos of big largemouth bass that he said he caught in Mount Tom Pond with his girlfriend earlier in the year. I'm pretty sure that he said he used plastic worms to catch them. I know that there are some shallower areas around the shore. I'd love to throw a buzzbait over them in the evening.
damage inc - When Daryl (aka Daryl) and I fished Mouth Tom Pond in the Spring last year, we saw big schools of 16 to 18 inch trout in the shallow southwest corner of the pond. We were there pre-spawn and they wouldn't bite anything that we threw at them. Even the guys chucking live bait from the beach didn't have any luck. _________________ Don't forget to wear sunscreen and don't litter! |
