Got out to Bantam Lake today hopeing for some pike. We started just to the left of the campground launch tossing everything, and ended up with one 2lb lmb. We made a move to south cove and started out where I think Flipper got his monster last year. We started out throwing spinnerbaits for pike out in front of the boats with no bites, so I picked up the jig and hit a key piece of structure in the area.

1st flip: nothing
2nd flip: nasty hit
3rd flip: I saw this thing nose down on it and disappear.

Another 5lb 2oz bass Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy , on the same jig I got my other 5lb 2oz bass on. Laughing

The rest of the day was terribly slow, except for two casts out on the point across from point folly, I had a pike that looked to be over 30" right to the boat, and it shook the spinnerbait. Next cast, I hook up with a fish that doesnt seem as big as that last one, and that one gets off at the boat too. It wasn't a pike, but instead was a really nice smallie. I hope Pikepersuader did better with the pike than us.

Flipper - my fish finder said 60 something degrees I believe. I believe it was high 60's. I would think thats fairly accurate because it was freezing when I got in the water to launch my boat.
