Zoom makes a great split tail trailer that creates about as close to 0 drag as you can get, and I swear I pick up extra fish because of it. |

Thank you so much guys! I am just tired of fantasizing about the big bass I was hitting throughout spawn, post, and early summer. I am out there 3 times a week working everything I read about for northern seasonal tactics, and I can't buy a 3lber! I did hit a 2-7 at morey two weeks ago which is by far my lunker for the last 2 months. I should have asked you guys a month ago, thats about when I knew I was getting stumped by the season changes again.
Anyway, thanks for the very detailed tips. I will spend allot of time on spinners in the next month and post any break through results I hopefully get. _________________ Am I obsessed, or is it normal to play with my lures every night? |

I am definitely a big spinnerbait guy, use one every time I'm on the water for sure. You most certainly have to vary your speeds until you get a good hit, then try to pattern your retrieves around that. This time of year is a great time to learn how to use one, if you find one, you should find a couple more in the same area. I mostly use 3 styles, double colorado, double willow for fast retrieves, and I make my own with a huge colorado and a small willow, and I use a chat/wht 90% of the time, 1/2 ounce to 3/4 for bigger fish. Like some of the other guys said, you have to let the fish tell you how they want it. Good luck. |

Caught 19 bass on the spinnerbait/buzzbait (overnight) last week. First night trip this year that's been productive for me during a full moon. Mostly in the 2lb range, biggest went 4lb15oz. Midnight Special and Megabass Rattle Viper...trailer hooks, no trailer. _________________ Kira
