| Anyone have any tips on a good aluminum hull cleaner? I have some water stains and lines on my boat (its older) and regular soap and water definitely wont get them out. Thanks! |

Hi!
Try using Comet or Bar Keepers Friend powdered sink cleaner with green scrub pad.
Do Not use steel wool!

| Thanks I will give it a shot. Just curious, why not use steel wool? I havent used it but I would think it would work better? I am assuming it probably damages the hull? I just have a feeling that these stains arent going to come out...I might need some acidic cleaner or something... |

NO! Again -> Do not use steel wool -> Dissimilar metals !
Corrosion could occur !

Stephen's right about Bar Keepers Friend. It's non-abrasive and uses oxalic acid as its active ingredient. It's my favorite cleanser for cleaning my stainless steel and porcelain pots and pans. However, I wouldn't use an abrasive green Scotch-Brite pad on an aluminum hull. Sure, it will remove anything from the hull, but it will also scratch it. Try the Bar Keepers Friend with a sponge or a blue non-abrasive Scotch-Brite pad.

my ex's dad let me borrow some stuff that worked REALLY well on my old jon boat. i'll try to find out the name of it.

that was quick... the stuff is called Spray 9 he uses it on his aluminum camper trailer. really brightens things up i used it with a plastic bristled scrub brush.

Hi,
therieldeal got my attention about Spray 9.
So I did some investigation.
Not really knowing, I have used their BBQ cleaner and it really works!
The Spray 9 "Marine cleaner" is primarily a disinfectant.
The "AV-8" is a metal cleaner for alumminun, magnesium, etc.

Hi Phil,
That stuff is great on bright smooth metal work or tarnished metal such as brass or bronze.
On metals that has any oxidation/grime/corrosion on it, you need to use their pre-cleaner (acid base) that will remove the heavy oxidation first.
Then Flitz paste does the polishing to a bright shine
