Last week I worked in Augusta and did some fishing on Lake Cobboseecontee.
Very nice lake, good sized. STRONG fish, they fight almost like blues.
My club had a tourney later that week and during practice, most bass went 2+ to a few 5+lbers.
I would suggest if your looking to go to Maine to stay at Lakeside Cabins in Winthrop ME. Cabins on the water, cheap, nice people and the fishing is awesome.
PS. The winning bag was over 18lbs. average bag was 12+lbs. _________________ Sleep...Eat...Fish!!!!! Then do it all over again. |

I was there the beginning of August and the fishing was amazing! I second your statement about the strength of the fish, even for your standard 12"-14" bass you got your money's worth.
I stayed at Lakeside Cabins & Motel and although dated, you can't ask for much more for a boat slip and a place to put your head when you're not fishing.
We pulled some big fish from the lake and didn't have any bad days. |

Simon,
That's where we always stay. Andy is great. Nice place, cheap and awesome fishing..
This year I did so much better with the new Huminbird 998, OMG what a difference.
My best was a 5.8LMB in 18FOW. it was awesome.
I hope the club goes back there again next year. _________________ Sleep...Eat...Fish!!!!! Then do it all over again. |
