Upstate NY Douglaston has been stocking browns in the river since May. I have gotten personal reports that my guys have been seeing kings move into 60-40 ft of water already and some reports that they seen some in the river. They have not been gatering in the estuary yet but for the people who know they will be cooling salmon river off labor day weekend with 3/4 of a gate to a full gate open. If we get alot of rain up there from this storm which i wish it would go up that far but it wont 9' of rain up there would be really nice start to a great season. Ive been going up alot this summer to catch smallies all summer and look for the atlantics and summer run steelies. Seems they were in Douglaston which you cant get into unless you pay. With that note here is a few sites you can check out and stay updated on the river. www.whitakers.com and www.douglastonsalmonrun.com. Both are decent sites and have links on both that can help you get weather and water flows for the river. If anyone from this site goes maybe we can get up and talk about different areas when done with their days. Can't wait!!!!!!!!!!! |

August 29th 3:03 p.m-It's a beautiful day after our big storm. Anglers have been reporting some steady movement of fish, but no big run yet. |
