Trying to keep the reports section going so figured id throw up the report from todays trip. Arrived at 8:00 and fished until 12:00. The sun got damn hot out there today and we both agreed to bail early because of it.
The report............they are still biting. Similar action to last week with a good mix of largemouth and smallmouth with the biggets fish being a 3+ smallie i snatched on the DS. Actually all my fish were caught on the DS today. Tried jigging but kept going back to the DS rod as thats what they seemed to want today. Buddy got some on worm and brushog. Was graced with a monster pickeral in the mix. Only slime dart i have caught there all year but it was a good one. The bite was consistent from when we arrived until we left but man that sun was blazing down on us today and im feeling it. few more weeks until they close so anyone who hasnt fished there and thought about it get out there while its still good and you can!
These fish are strong and healthy in this lake and 2lbers fight like 4lbers! The big smallie i got today has to be one of the hardest fighting smallies i have ever caught.
this was a strong fish and if i didnt know any better would have thought i hooked the new state record. unreal how strong they are there. |

I second the strength of those fish, the 2.9lb smallie I got there the other day doubled over my med/hvy jig rod. I'd love to hook a 4lb smallie there. _________________ Catch and release only.
