Looking for the closest place to River Glen on the Farmington that sells live minnows. All my searches come up with places 20mins+ from it was wondering of anyone who knew of a 'mom and pop' type store that may be closer or anywhere else for that matter. |

There aren't any bait shops close to River Glen (aka the Wannowmassa Lane canoe launch). Shiners will survive for quite a long time in even a small minnow bucket. I don't think that you have to worry about them dying on you. _________________ Don't forget to wear sunscreen and don't litter! |

Hi!
Here's an old timer's trick to keep minnows alive longer!
Put 1-2 cap full of hydrogen peroxide in the bait bucket that has minnows.
Hydrogen peroxide is only water with an extra O2 molecule.
So it adds additional O2 to the existing water.
An aerator also helps.

I ended up getting them the day I went from a baitshop, about 20 minutes away, and several did in fact end up dying, and the bait shop owner asked me where I was going and also said several might die on the way. |
