Im looking to get some waders for surf fishing later this season. Im looking to spend about $100 plus or minus a but but not too much more. A few recommendations would be nice from those of you who have them and like what you have or not. There are just so many options in breathable, neoprene, vulcanized and rubber and more that my head is spinning and sizing is another thing, What the heck is size 10?? % have a 34 waist pants and am 5'10" where does 10 fall in unless they mean boot size. _________________ There's a fine line between fishing....

No one uses waders here? I think Im going to spend more then I thought and go with 5.5 neoprene from LLBean as they have a lifetime warranty. I only plan on using them when it gets cold out for surf fishing. _________________ There's a fine line between fishing....

Waders are sized by the boot usually or just sized SMLXLXXL and T sizes as well. You would have to get into more expensive waders to get a better fit. I have a pair of Hodgman neoprene waders that I wear when the weather is cold ($70 @ Dicks). In warmer weather I have lightweight breathable waders which I got on sale ($95 @ Dicks). I wouldn't buy waders online unless you get them from a reputable place where you can easily get refund or exchange. If you go to Dicks or Cabelas or any other shop that sells them they will let you try them on. I never wore waders for saltwater fishing so I'm not sure what would be best for you. _________________ Never give up! |

i have 2 pairs. 1 pair is Hodgman breathable.....they started leaking soon after buying them at the seam, I like them when its hot and the water is calm. the other pair are bass pro shops red head neoprene. They were cheap and I really like them especially in moving water because they fit tight making it difficult for hem to fill with water. BPS has a lot of choices as to fit, I assume cabelas also does. I would definitely recommend them. I also prefer stocking foot over boot foot waders. |

I was telling my friend that I was going to bu some waders and it turns out a neighbor of his gave him a pair of Cabela's waders last year and he doesnt want them so gave them to me and they fit ok. They are like brand new only they are waist high so not exactly what I was looking for but Ill just stay a little more on shore and stay safer I guess. _________________ There's a fine line between fishing....

Can't complain about free!
Keep and eye on Cabelas and BPS., they often have really good clearance sale and you might be able to pick up a set really cheap. |
