I went out today for about 2 hours and fished an Ore Bed in Sharon, CT that i have eyed for years but never had a chance to try... The water was very calm, Sunny skys with suprisingly little action for the time i was there. I tried my normal items in my arsenal. Senkos, Chugbug, Jitterbug, Spin n' Image, Rapala Xrap, Spinnerbait, Crankbait, but nothing seemed to be working... I ended up moving to a different spot on the shore of this orebed and decided this was time for me to practice my Jig and Pig... First cast i slowly reeled it in creeping it along the bottom and swimming it alittle... I seen a few large ones follow it in so i was getting hopfully at this point... Second cast I ended up landing a 3lb 4oz (rapala digital scale) Largie with my Black and Purple Jig and Pig. Very Happy

I cut it short to go have dinner with my girlfriend so I will be giving this spot another try this week... I will keep you all posted on how I do...

Here is a pic I took with my cell phone -
