Caught this and three others today at a small farm pond in The back woods of Wichester Ct. AKA Black Bear country. Sucked a watermelon yum dinger in off the bottom.

I wish that I had fished slower this evening. I didn't even see a fish in three hours of fishing at Batterson while throwing a frog and trolling Rapalas. However, I think that the water in Batterson was way too murky post-rain for a wacky Senko. Anyway, I'm glad that the slow Dinger worked for you today, Ian.

great catch!

i have been looking for smallies so i hit highland this morning and had 2 big surprises!

1st, i drove into the parking lot and found out that there was a tournament going. and yes, i do check the tournament postings and this weekend did not have any listed. ramp monitor guy let me know that this was a late change/booking.

2nd, the ramp monitor guy informed me that they put chemicals in the water last week (to kill the weeds i guess) and the last weekends tournament produced 6 fish....for all the boats!

i guess the 3rd surprise was that i got skunked.
