My buddy Conor and I fished Spring Pond in our kayaks today from 9AM-2PM.
I had pretty high expectations with the overcast skies today but we also spent a good amount of time just trying to explore the pond. We actually found the hot spots early and returned to find them fruitful again before we left.
The fishing started out hot but got deathly slow for most of the time and then picked up again as we were getting tired and hungry.
Conor took lunker with this 3 lb 16" Bass he caught on a roboworm
He also caught two others, this one on a fat albert green pumpkin colored
and a smaller one on the same bait.
I managed only one in the boat although I should've had more including a really nice one I thought I had one but shook the hook after about a minute. That one and the one I did land was on KS1980's homemade bait! The boated one was TX rigged and the one that got away was because of either the barbless hook or a weak hookset by me on a wacky rig.
All in all, nice day on the water with some fish in the boat so can't complain... _________________ Never give up! |
