|
|
As i mentioned in a previous post, I was up in Danbury earlier in the week fishing Candlewood. I drove over to Ball Pond to try my like, but not knowing the area at all I couldnt find any solid shore access points. Most of what I found was private lots and whatnot. I plan on hitting it again this weekend, but need some help finding solid entry points for good shore fishing spots. I have no problem hiking a bit either, but need a place for my car as well.
Also, same question goes for Candlewood. What is the best shore fishing access? When I went last weekend, I was fishing near Squantz Pond (right where the road separates the two). Any other good access points that arent totally overfished?

For Ball Pond, if you googlemap the pond you will clearly see Lake Drive right off of Ball Pond Rd E. This will take you to a gravel parking lot, good size, probably parks 20 or so cars. There is a gradual entry into the water that's ideal for launching kayaks or canoe.
Fish the most northen part of the pond if you want to nail those fat large mouths. Hope this helps. |

Ball Pond is better fished by boat yak canoe....
East lake is in between the two.
East lake has nice smallies larges and is only fished from shore.
I am not sure how much you can fish at the moment (you always can fish the road side rocks)
When the water goes down u could literally walk around the entire thing.... _________________

East Lake Res is good. I know there is huge largemouth, crappies, and Yellow Perch. I think I got Onzo'd on a Huge Smallie. I've been told there are Trout in there too. Anyone ever seen or caught a trout in Eastlake? _________________ Oh man... you got Onzo'd! |
