I've fished there probably 4-5 times a week since April. It's been hit-or-miss. I can go a coulple days without a bite, and the next day catch six fish in two hours. I've had days where i've caught five species. Last night I caught 4 smallies all 2-3lbs on a spinner bait. I fish mainly the Valley Forge side for smallies. As you head up rt 53 towards the causeway it becomes more weedy and the largemouth are more plentiful. I'M STILL WAITING FOR MY FIRST WALLEYE!! |

No got out early and went to Lake Mamansaco. Did pretty well overall numberwise. I caught two that were close to 2 pounds, but everything else was short. Too many small fish there. I think I'm going to tke a break from there. I catch them in numbers but not any size there. |

I plan on getting out this weekend once or twice. Plus my wife and daughter are going away for two weeks later in July. I will be taking advantage. I'll give Ball a shot. I was also told to hit Kenosia. |

Went Sunday morning.
Caught 3 smallmouth in about 2 hours, two on a dropshot with a 4" green pumpkin Strike King super finesse worm and the other was on a green pumpkin Keitech Mono Spin Jig with a 2" green pumpkin Keitech Little Spider trailer. Biggest was 1 lb 2 oz. Little fighter must have gotten two feet of air on his first jump and his second was just as athletic. So glad I live in New England and can enjoy this species.
Probably lost 7 weights, 5 hooks and and countless worms. Bless the rocky terrain at this place. |

Try 2-1/2 inch Gulp minnows on your drop shot. Walmart sells them. I know that smallies like them. _________________ Don't forget to wear sunscreen and don't litter! |

I went on Friday night and stayed from 6:30-9:30. I got one pumpkinseed on my first cast on a Viscious Firetiger lipped crakbait on the Valley Forge side. After around a half hour I moved on down to the causeway. I alternated between throwing weightless Culprit ribbon tailed worms, black and purple colored, and the crankbait above.
I caught a nice 2.5 pound largemouth right under the bridge. It hit right as the worm hit the water. Then I caught a nice 2lb plus smallie on the crankbait. The thing fought so hard I thought it was going to be bigger than what it was. All in all it was pretty nice.
A cop came by and saw we were doing and said we could stay a little beyond the 9pm time you are supposed to be off the water. I am glad he did because a little kid fishing with his dad caught a huge crappie right as we were getting ready to leave. |
