Hit up the campground pond for a couple days, and hit a bunch of nice fish. We caught fish on everything, at any time of day. There's really no rhyme or reason to this place.

My biggest of the year at 4lbs on the chatterbait.

Another guys 6lbr on a popper.

A 2lb 4oz fish that should have been 3lbs.

My dad's very thin 4lb 13oz fish that he got on a wacky rig.

Very nice! This sounds like a very productive pond. and its at a campground? I love camping and have been trying to find a campground with a great bass pond.

I'm actually going to maine to camp and fish this weekend, so I'll be posting a report next week.

Anyways, congrats brotha!

Thanks!

This was an unusually productive two days for this place. Usually you're lucky to get one 4lbr in two days of fishing. If you want to find campground ponds, look into Massachusetts and farther north, the really good places are pretty much up that way. The only good place I've found in Ct(and I've tried a bunch of them) is Chamberlain Lake Campground, but that place gets fished like lower bolton. Although there is a 10lb+ bass swimming around in there... Wink

I used to camp at Chamberlain, also. Nice lake w/ tent sites right on the water. I don't think it gets that much pressure though because only campers and those w/ a special permit can fish it. No gas motors, either. While I have heard stories of big bass in there, I never caught anything of too much size. Still a nice place to camp and fish.

In the last year about 10 new seasonals have moved in there, and they all fish for bass out of their boats. It was really good a few years ago when there wasn't as much pressure.

NIce bass. I've fished that same spot as well a couple of times and the big fish can be sporadic.
