Foote hill pond at tallwood golf course...using a .99 cabelas spinner bait. The bass was about 10 to 11 inches long. Had another one but it took the spinner bait right off the line, like my knot came undone. Spent an hour there then went to risely reservoir but no luck there. Was very nice out today though, a good day to be out and relax and fish.

Is that pond open to the public or part of the course? I have driven by there numerous times and thought about stopping.

Usually the Ris is pretty good. My buddies fish the dam alot and usually always turn out fish. We were actually there this week and it was a little slow.

I called the golf course to find out, the guy said they only use the water for irrigation but they don't own it. He said he see's people fishing there all the time and to park accross the street, you'd see a gate but don't block the gate. On the street side of the pond there are no tresspassing signs but if you go up the driveway where the pump house is, there aren't any signs. I walked through the tall grass to the rocks shaped like feet and thats where I caught my bass.

As far as Ris goes, been fishing there about 4-5 years now, I've noticed it's quality not quantity. I used to catch some nice size bass and trout and pickerel where the benches are on the road side of the pond.. I usually walk right in to about waist high there. The area by the large parking area is where the swimmers usually hang out, I've never even gotten a bite in that part. A little to the right of that area before it bottles up I caught a bass last year, during the drought I was able to walk way out.

The Damn area, can be hit or miss, I've seen so many fish swimming right up to the shore, pickerel and bass mainly you'd think it would be a fish buffet! The little corner right at the beginning of the damn seems to hold the CP and smaller fish, seen perch swimming there.. In the center, I like to fish the right side of that thing, that's where I seem to catch really good size bass, last fall during my last trip last year there I pulled out at least a 3 pounder...was really amazed! I had one a couple of trips ago but it got off just before I lipped it, maybe a pound or pound and half.

I don't like the area where the overflow goes, it's very shallow over there.
The other thing I've noticed this year is hanging up on the rocks on the bottom. I've lost a lot of jig type lures by the damn on those rocks, they seem to get caught in between the rocks and it's frustrating... so I ended up using mostly spinner baits and an original rapala countdown last night.

Next time I go I may bring some night crawlers just to have a little fun...you never know what you'll catch with night crawlers.

Thanks for the info on Tallwood, I will def get over there and check it out.

At the Ris I have only used Texas rigged worms and that seems to work most of the time. I have only fished by the dam, but my buddies put their canoe in there on Wed and had a ton of luck all around.

I am sure with nightcrawler you will catch something. I did notice it was pretty rocky around the dam area
